Copying File

Can anyone help me? i am trying to save my movie files to my external harddrive and when i save it to my internal hard drive it says that i need to do a disk cleanup because of the temporary files, and if i save it right to my external hard drive it splits into 6 different images.. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Your external drive is formatted as FAT32 with a max file size of 1Gb. Reformat it to NTSC (it is non-destructive and perfectly safe). See Windows Help - "convert to NTFS".

I reformatted my drive to NTSC once but then all my Norwegian videos wouldn't play anymore, so I had to reformat the drive back to PAL

blu...I'm confused a little, what do you mean when saying FAT32 has a max file size of 1gb?? Do you mean saving the file or playing the file. Cause I have a Ext HDD that is FAT32 and I save a bunch of .avi files that are greater than 1gb. And they play fine through WMP.

file-size limit on FAT32 is (2^32)-1 bytes, or one byte less than a full 4GB.

what blutach said, helped me and he was right about the 1 gig thing cuz when i saved an iso to it.. it split into 6 images but when i reformatted it can handle the iso now.
