I read over the net many times about this term AC3 5.1.What is it exactly? I have seen couple of movies with this format which are less than 4 GB size. Does this format support good quality with respect to sound in particular?
What is AC3 5.1?

It is Dolby Digital surround sound. 5.1 = 5 channels (usually 3 front, 2 rear) and the .1 = the low frequency channel (sub-woofer).
It usually represents excellent sound quality, though many prefer DTS 5.1 (however, that can take up more space than Dolby Digital).
