I am sorry, but due to our Forum rules, we can't discuss or help with most of what you want to do here, especially the first program you mentioned learning to use. I am sure if you were to use your google search with keywords like cdfreaks or afterdawn, you would find people that can help. If you keep your questions here, to usage & understanding Forums, (so if you hit a snag, just post a question about it & people will help), also we can help with the burning to a blank Dvd part of what you want to do. So dive in, it's friendly, about 3 years ago, I was where you are now. Take a look around first, see what there is, read the rules, (they are mostly common sense) & as long as you don't consistantly break them, the Mods here are also here to help you & they have a wealth of knowledge. So good luck.

perhaps someone could at least advise me about the procedure for making a playable dvd. Once I have created a set of audio and video TS files, I simply burn them, as data, to a DVD. Is this the right way to do it?Comment

Use ImgBurn (freeware) in build mode - guide on the ImgBurn Forum.

Say, Blutach, I noticed in one of your linked posts that you say NEVER to put adhesive labels on burned media. (uh-oh) how come?
PS let's assume that for the moment I'm not going to download any new programs, but will continue to burn the created TS folders to a DVD with Sonic. Should it be saved as data files, and should I finalize the disc?Last edited by bluesbabe2; 23 Jul 2008, 03:26 AM.Comment

Do a search and you'll see that it unbalances the disc and makes it play very badly. It's one of the key causes of bad playback.

@ Bluesbabe2
You can get media with white label build on the DVD+R 4.7gb disks and DVD+DL 8.5gb disks thus eliminating your vibrating problem.
If you mount your own label the key here is to be sure AND CENTER the label on the disk so it is balanced. The disk needs to be completely balanced before inserting it into the player, weather you buy media with white label on the disk or you put the white labels on the disk, balanced is the word.
If you get DVD+R and/or DVD+R DL media and DO NOT USE rewriteable media and burn your VIDEO TS FOLDER to a disk using the latest issue of IMGBURN all you stated concerns will disappear.
