I have converted a movie from avi to pal dvd mpeg. The original downloaded file was .avi mpeg4, yuv420p 668x278 (PAR 1:1 DAR 334x139) at 25 Fps.
When i demultiplex with dvd lab it says incorrect width or height or both and only retains the audio file and when i tried burning an iso to disk it played on my pc just like the original file did in windows media player, but not on our standalone dvd unit. Total video converter gave same error before trying to burn and would'nt let me burn. Only reason i tried using poweriso to burn is because i got the same error on total video converter with another file and that file successfully burnt to disk on windows dvd maker. I tried to use windows dvd maker to burn the current file at hand and that gave an error while trying to encode. All i need to know is, are there default sizes to use for most standalone players (frames). And if so how do i get from the original file data above to acceptable frame sizing?
