How do I copy my movies to my computer? And what program shuld i use?

Hi I want to copy some movies to my computer, and was wondering how to do this? Is DVD shrink a good program for this?

I want to compress my movie when transferring it to my computer, but still be in a decent quality... I hope someone can help me with this, tnx anyway
