I have Nero Recode as part of the Nero package I already own, so it's convenient. What I'm trying to do is take some of the myriad backup files I have in various formats and fashioning & burning hardware player-compliant DVDs. The DVDs I've been putting together play just fine on my computer via Power DVD or Media Center, but fail on my standalone DVD player. At what part in the process can I take over with Nero Recode if I'm starting from, say, an avi file? I know this is not the thread for this, but I'd really be grateful to find a url that would give an overview on what files need to be on a DVD and what special processing must be done on them in order to make them compliant. The player's manual states that these discs cannot be played:
*2.6 and 5.2 GB DVD-RAM, 12cm (5")
*3.95 and 4.7 GB DVD-R for Authoring
*Unfinalized DVD-R recorded on other equipment
*PAL discs (you can still play the audio on DVD-Audio)
*DVD-Video with a region number other than "1" or "all", DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, +R, +RW, CD-ROM, CDV, CD-G, Photo CD, CVD, SVCD, SACD, MV-Disc, PC, Divx Video Disc, etc.
What does that leave me (doesn't look like much LOL)
Thanks a bunch
