"Multishrink" for Nero Recode, (batch processing)....

I've posted this question elsewhere, but I thought that this would be the right place for it. Is there a "Multishrink" utility for Nero Recode? Or is there any possible way to do batch processing with recode?

I hate having to keep checking on my computer 50 times a day just to shrink a few DVD's. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. I do notice that Recode works the same way as Shrink in that you can have several instances open at once on your computer. I'm not super computer savvy, but I'm sure some of you geniuses out there can easily make a small program that can close the finished "Recode" screen and start the next instance. It can even be named "Multirecode".

Anybody out there have any secrets they use or anything that can help would be greatly appreciated.

is anyone even reading this post? Any recode forum veterans like "Cynthia" or any of those guys have anything to say/offer?.... There's got to be something you guys do to make things a lil' easier/faster.

Forgive my newbie status but, when you say "dvdd", you mean "DVD Decrypter" or is this another transcoder program?

If you did mean "Decrypter", then I agree with you absolutely. I love it and use it myself, but it doesn't help me actually shrink the DVD like DVDShrink or Recode.

Now if dvdd is another program I haven't tried then please supply a link to where I can get it and I will give it a shot.

Anyone even use Recode out there? I personally think it is the absolute best transcoder (I have tried them all).

at this point, shrink and recode2 will output the same quality. recode2 is much faster and is being updated so i 'd say that recode2 is a better trancoder.

I think I've made a little progress on my own on this topic. I was searching online and I see that there are tons of freeware "automation" utilities that may be able to help batch process "Recode".

Has anyone out there actually tried any of these programs for any other use? Will any of them help if I already have the program pulled up and I just need the "Burn" button pressed at a certain time?

I will try a few of the programs out and let you guys know if I have any success.

Maybe one of them can be used/tweaked to help press the burn button on "Recode" at a certain time. I'm at work right now, but as soon as I get home I will try a few of them myself.

You can find even more sites by typing the words "freeware" and "automation tools" into Google. You can replace the word "tools" with programs/apps/etc....

I think this message may be a little out of date but I’m posting it anyway just in case someone else comes across it searching for a way to automate Nero.

Your last message Alex, lead me to the program ‘AutoIT version 3.1.1’. And with a little bit of effort, I have been able to automate Nero Express 3.

Now I was looking for a way to convert about 40 large AVI files to DVD, after getting lumbered with the task of converting them at work. After a few days of leaving my machine switched on over night, I was getting about 1 or 2 files convert per day. So I started looking into a way to get more files converted over night, which lead me to your last post.

I looked at AutoIT and this seems to do the job quite nicely if you have a little programming knowledge. I created a script and over the bank-holiday weekend it converted 6 files before the script failed (a popup message from my fire-wall took the focus from Nero express so it went wrong).

I’ll be doing a few changes to the script (so when the focus is moved it gets moved back to Nero), and adding comments later this week. I’ll post the script and full explanations of how to batch convert AVI to DVD using Nero, once I have finished it.
