    nero overburn

i tried to overburn a cd today; data contained 718 mb - overburn was unsuccesfull.i was wandering if this was the fault of the writer or a cd. i got acer rewriter 24x10x40 and it supports overburn. the cd i used was not the most expensive cd on the market but it could support overburn to 707 mb (that is the higest size i burned succesfully). would a higher quality cd support bigger sizes and if so, which and how big is the data it can contain?

You can check the overburn capability of your cd in Nero with "nero cd speed".
    I have succesfully burned 710mb on a maxell 700mb cd-r.

Yes it depends from cd how much you can overburn then, i have been told that plextor cd's are the best for overburing

i hope you know that trademark

tried to analyse the Plexor disc to see how much it can be overburned. The tool froze up
              at 105%

Did you try it again or with another disc (not brand, simply another plextor disc)?

Well if you tried it with another brand and the same thing happened, then you should try re-installing Nero.
By the way, what version do you have? The newest one is 5.5.10.0. You can grab it here
