load your file into tmpeg and use the DEMUX/DEMULTIPLEX option. this should extract your audio file as it is (mp2).

      Problem with mp2.

But the problem extracting as mp2 is that Virtual Dub accepts only wav files.how can i get over this ?
Do i need to convert mp2 into wav using soundforge or any other software ?
      Thanks.

You might find it simpler to do the following:

          1) Load the .dat file into TMPGEnc's main window

          2) Click on the "File" dropdown menu - and select "Output to file" - and select "WAVE file"

          3) You will see the narrowest sliver of a radio button to the right of the audio format box. Click on it to select the format you desire (PCM Uncompressed .WAV)

          4) Enter a new filename and click on "Save"
