Ok, iv tried everything now. Iv tried gordian knot wiv xvid, divx, and iv also tried, 3ivx and other little codecs. IV followed every tutorial i can on doom9, yet i still cant get the quality i want. I got phone booth xvid-dvl, and the quality is amazing, dvd-like, in only 700MB! how can i achieve this? J

what were your settings and what films did you try them on?
it is not that difficult achieving decent quality with widescreen titles on 700mb using xvid or divx5 + bframes

ok, i Use Ultra high quality, H.263 quant, max i frame =250, high bitrate scenes = 25, low = 45, Payback proportionally, curve aggretion medium, high = 90, low = 73 strength = 50
anything wrong here?
And, what is the average bitrate needed for VERY near DVD qual? Thanx, JComment
