    Nandub Question

How do I determine the filesize of the movie that will be encoded before processing it with nandub?

since it is a matter of the codec and its settings the resulting file size varies and thus this question cannot be answered!?!?!?

make your choice, go for a two cd rip and your file will end up at ~ 1300+ mb to which your sound stream will have to be added.

I'm trying to compress a 711Mb file to 700Mb so it can fit on a 80min CD-R. When I enter information into a bitrate calculator, I can input what size the file should be produced after encoding right? So is this file size reflective of what nandub will output when I enter the information from the bitrate calculator into nandub? I guess my question is what settings should my nandub be so I can compress the video to 700Mb and producing optimal results.

Also there an apparent visual improvement in quality if I was to compress the video in nandub than if I was to use Virtual Dub?

P.S. I'm ruling out the possibility of overburing the file or splitting up the movie. I want to compress this movie optimally with nandub.

If you use the bitratecalculator and "get data from audio source" is selected the calculated bitrate should NEARLY fit to the selected amount of MBs. Most times I get around 1 or 2 MB more than I selected, so you should use 698 or 699MB instead of 700MB. Then start "File -> Two passes..." for the best quality. If you allready know a little about DivX you can tune ub a bit in the "SBC Settings". Maybe it is easier and much faster to reduce the audio quality. In a 90min-movie the reduction from 128kbps to 112kbps saves around 10-11MB.
