i got this software off my m8 and it locked up my whole computer when i was converting a movie. it is unstable!
if any of you where gonna get it don't it nacks up your pc.

I've tried out this product just for curiousity because for me it does not make sence converting divx movie to dvd you will
loose quality again.Besides if you have a wide screen source divx2dvd changes the aspect ratio to fullscreen hence causing some unexpected problems.

If this product hangs up just chack for bug fixes.

The reason why people want to make a DVD from DivX is so that they can watch the film on their DVD player. And before you say "just buy a DivX dvd player" well some people might not want to spend another lets say £100-£250 on one. Anyway just thought i'd say that's maybe the reason

Yes why not its a whole stupid thing doing re converting your mpeg4 to a dvd again.


Take plenty of time to convet your mpeg 4
(already lost quality dvd---> to mpeg4)

RE convert to its original format
(You will agian loose quality)

Why just you leave the movie's original format as it is?
IF you want smaller file size just shrink it using dvd shrink or recode.

I'm not talking about having the original DVD, i'm on about if you aquired the film in avi format but want to have it in DVD format to watch on you DVD player. Plus i have some movies in the house that are on DVD that were originally in avi format and they look absolutely fine, nothing wrong with them when viewing on the tv. But when you go to view them on the pc, that's when you notice the quality difference.

If you convert an original avo movie you won't notice any quality
diffrence when converting to dvd format.

I meant that if you aquired the video in DivX/XviD avi format, then when you go to convert it into DVD format again you can watch it on your t.v.

You might do that aswell but i doubt how many movies you can aquire originally in avi format.

No decryptit, i meant films that come from a DVD. Do i have to make this obvious, think about it. Where do you know that you can get films for free eh? please say that you know what i'm talking about. Anyway, i'm just saying that if you have aquired a film that come from a DVD, but you don't have the DVD and want to watch the film on a DVD player then you can convert it into DVD format (and yes i know that it won't be the same quality, but you can still watch it on your DVD player) Do you understand now.

when converting mpeg-4 (avi & co) to mpeg-2 (svcd & dvd) DONT use the dvd resolution as this means upsampling the avi material which will result in more loss of details/quality than converting the avi to svcd resolution

svcd can easily be burned/authored to dvd later on, requires less space and means the better output format in this case

conversion from avi to svcd can be done with dvd2svcd using tmpeg or cce

authoring svcd material to dvd is easily done with dvd-lab

Yeah, i know but i just meant that if you were stuck with an avi just then you would have to convert it to watch on a DVD player.

Don't you think that converting directly to scvd woud be a better idea most dvd players can handle them.

Yes if you had the DVD, but i'm on about if you have'nt. I'm on about if you have downloaded it from the net, with me now!! you download a film from the net in XviD/DivX avi then you convert it to watch on your DVD player. If you have the original DVD then yes convert it straight to DVD/SVCD but if you have'nt got the DVD, just the avi then you have to convert it to watch on your DVD player, surely you must know that.

P.S you don't have to convert a SVCD from a DVD for a DVD player to handle them, SVCD's can be converted from an avi and still be playable on a DVD player.

Ok then , but its quite unusal downloading divx/xvid movies
from the net.(the only exeption is perhaps downlaoding them across p2p)
