    Load it into VirtualDub.

    Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
    Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
    Under "Audio", select "Volume" (enter a checkmark). Move slider to the right.

    Save your .AVI with a new filename.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Yes you can do this in virtualdub

      select direct streamcopy for video, and full processing mode for audio, then select audio->volume and select the adjustment level, and remember to select an audiocodec in the audio->compression menu.
      Then select 'file->save avi' to create a new avi file.
      Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

          would be better to stay at 96 kb/sec, as u wont get better audio but more filesize when encoding already from 96kb/sec

            problem is guys, you dont even mention the versions that are able to do this!

            implying ALL vd version do, wont be of any help.

            i'd rather suggest to use an audio editor like cooledit2k or wavelab and increase the soundlevel for some db

              You are correct, UncasMS:

              All versions of VirtualDub beginning with v.1.4D and running through v.1_4_8 have this capability ;>}
