    Tool for GKnot-VDub encoding

    Hi,

I'd like to share a simple encoding tool for GKnot-VirtualDub users.
While waiting for The Wef's Gordian Knot version that fully supports DivX Pro 5.xx codec using VirtualDub, you may try this tool to automate the VirtualDub encoding and NanDub for muxing audio.

However, you still need GKnot to generate AVS files and load them to this proggy for encoding and muxing.

Here's the link for the latest version:

Should you have any comments/suggestions, please post it on this thread.

Special thanks to Jonny for sharing his algorithm in MIME Base64 decoding/encoding. You may find similar tool on his website http://jonny.leffe.dnsalias.com/)

        Hi,

I've just updated my program AutoDivX5 to version 1.0.6

        You may download it at:
Angelfire on Lycos, established in 1995, is one of the leading personal publishing communities on the Web. Angelfire makes it easy for members to create their own blogs, web sites, get a web address (domain) and start publishing online.

Here are the features I added :
        - Fully supports DVD2AVI's project file as input, aside from GKnot's generated avs files
        - Can do bitrate calculation and auto-adjustment during encoding
        - Can handle avisynth-frameserving; trimming, setting filters, cropping, resizing
        - Resolution setting
        - Previewing the input stream to check if telecined or interlaced
        - Status window for viewing progress

I need your comments for improvement of this freeware proggy.

              Well, the advantages are:

              1) It supports AVS file as input. So, generated AVS file can be reloaded for further processing - let's say you modify your AVS file for some filters added, then you can use AutoDivX5 to link your avs to VDub for encoding.

              2) DVD2AVI cannot detect exactly if the stream is bad telecined or pure interlaced since statistic window shows NTSC in both cases. One useful tool of checking whether the movie is telecined or interlaced is to apply Telecide() and check if stream appears correctly, otherwise Interlaced. AutoDivX5 can do that on-the-fly.

              3) DivX5 parameters can be changed by the user - Now GKnot 0.26, I guess can do that also.

              4) Less user's interaction or input data.

Anything you can suggest to improve my proggy?

never had so much fun to encounter a 404:

Aliens must have abducted this page!
Actually, we couldn't find the page you requested. Please check the URL.

                    what is it?
got kicked or down for some other reason?

                    +++++++

well, i did not manage to download the dll-pack, only the main tool.

here is what i miss / found faulty or simply not working (due to the missing dlls?)

                    - secondary audio stream
                    - audiobitrate : in the drop down list the value 256 is listed twice!

                    - neither opening a d2v nor avs file let me see or change the resize or cropping functions

                      Thanks UncasMS for your info.

The page is down due to band width limit. Actually, I have two sites but both are down for the same reason.

Perhaps, I have to look for new host (...but I've to pay this time)
