    Join 2 divx-files (one with sound and the other without)

    Anyone know how two join 2 divx-files? The first is encoded with 128kbit, 44100hz sound, 1100kbit divx5pro
    And the other one (a logo....160ms long) is encoded with divx5pro 1100kbit, no sound......vdub keeps saying "Cannot append segment: the has a different number of streams"

    Solution?

    Load ONLY the second file into VirtualDub

    Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"

    Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"

    Under the "Audio" dropdown menu, set the "Compression" and "Conversion" to the identical settings of the first file - even though the second file has no audio

    From under the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save with a NEW filename.

    All other things being equal, you should now be able to append this NEW file to the first file.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

        Please be good enough to do the following regarding the new file that you created by following my suggested procedure:

        1) Load the file into VirtualDub

        2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

        3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

            I would do as setarip said, but i would previously create with a sound editor a wav file of the length of your second movie and attach it by setting audio>wav audio and selecting this new file.

                You mean I'm not the only one who read his post saying it doesn't work, followed by another post saying he hasn't really done it?

                There really are some little jerks that post here from time to time...

                  Sorry, i read his answer too quickly, and your method is working even with audio set to AVI audio.

                      i tested it...both by adding a wavfile (160ms), and tested without i as setarip suggested..but non of the methods worked...probbably i pressed the wrong button or so...
