Suggestions and feedback for the DVD Rebuilder Freeware Edition for Dummies
One point I would make though is that I'd take HC over Procoder Express. If you want top quality with all (and I mean all) the options, Procoder 2 is the tool.
As for saving more space, not only MenuShrink but also VobBlanker and PgcEdit can be used. MenuShrink is good because DVDRB doesn't touch menus (yet).
i wonder what your cable modem is used to in addition to loading a couple of pics
5 mins loading time leads me to the assumption you're transfering an aweful lot of data from your *neighbourhood-watch-cam* or the -session in your basement
To give proper respects to HC Encoder, you should use the common name as DVD Rebuilder has in it options. I've seen instances of "HC" and "HCEnc" in guide. Don't want to confuse total newbies on the scene.
2CLCHenshin! If you got a dollar for everytime someone called you ugly, you'd be a millionaire...an "ugly" millionaire.±

In the menus it's called HC. In some other parts of the help section it's called HC Encoder. The .txt file in the HC Encoder directory names it's as HC. Which one should I use?
thank you very much for DVD Rebuilder Freeware Edition for Dummies guide.
i encoded SWIII with DVD-RB v0.96 free following your guide but only in the end of the job i read :
Don't backup multiangle DVDs in the freeware edition
Just like interleaved VOB units/multiangle scenes are not compressed in the freeware edition - so converting matrix or other multiangle titles with the FREEWARE version is not a good idea.
Either strip the source down to ONE angle or better donate and get the rebuilder PRO version, which does compress interleaved VOB units/multiangle scenes.
SWIII have multiangles and now i'm stuked because i can't get the full version in this moment(short money).
can you show me how strip the source to one angle(angle 3-portuguese) and what program is needed please?
mine is R4 and i can select the scrolling text in the first chapter in 3 languages but i don't saw the whole movie encoded.
i still need to stript the source?
I did SW III with the freeware version. It came out ok.
the thing is this:
the freeware version does not compress interleaved cells
should a title have large amounts of them then the result MUST undoubtedly come out bad
in the case of sw3 there is only the *intro* that is used with multiangle iirc and thus there is not much bitrate lost for not compressing these segments
but take other titles with lots of interleaved stuff in it then it is no good idea to use the source without preprocessing - i.e. stripping the source down to ONE angle
I got the following messages from VOBBlanker after I selected Auto-blank on SW - Phantom Menance.

Is it only for information and I should carry on normally or do I need to worry about it and take some corrective action(like what ;) ??)
How does it effect the
You could also try ripping again with DVD Decrypter and only keep the angle you want. DVDRemake also strips angles if you have it.
