    Procoder Express or CCE Basic?

I know there is another thread about Procoder 2 & CCE SP, but I can't afford either of them plain and simple. Between the two more affordable options which would you recommend Procoder Express or CCE Basic?

between the more affordable my one and only choice is HC ENC!

total freeware and superb quality in addition to a perfect integration into rebuilder

    015A was released recently

I only tried HC 1x but as "uncasMS" stated I got real good results with it. I use mainconcept for stand alone encoding and CCE for trying programs such as dvd2svcd etc. cce does give good results. I seldom use more than 2 passes with cce. I have CCE SP 2.5 is what I use

a hc 015 is included in some rebuilder packs
(the installer version does provide you with HC)

i'm not sure it is part of the pro version
(i have only used the updates for the pro version)

hc is indeed an excellent encoder and it will do with 2 passes

Have you ever used CCE for DV to DVD? I need a prog to help me with my DV from my camcorder after I get it to my pc. If it will do that and work with DVD-RB it would be worth it.

i have not used hc with dv material but creating an avisynth file will easily let you use the hc GUI version to encode your dv avi to mpeg-2 compliant material

maybe this quick tutorial might help

i use RB with HC, main movie-only(don't care for the rest of the stuff, quality freak here)and i can tell you, you can't get better quality, as good as CCE but, for free.

"as good as CCE but, for free"

so many times I find a freeware product that works as good as or better than a commercial product

just did "the ring two" last night(8/20)RB/HC/main movie-only. it came out great, no difference in quality between the original and the copy, of course i don't have all that other stuff.

Concerning the HC encoder: I would stick with the version (v0.15) that is included with DVD-RB for right now. There are some reported problems with 0.15A -- Hank315 is working them and I believe they will be fixed soon.

                          Hi!

If I got it right - with the free version 0.94 this one (0.15A) is included)?

If I look at the version that the DVD Rebuilder reports that I'm using - it shows ver 0.15.0.0. But when I run the program it reports ver 0.15 beta. How can you see for real which one you do have installed?

you'll find a subfolder named ENCODERS within rb when using rockas INSTALLER version

the hcbatch.exe is the one, you should go for

start it and take a look at it

                            they all look different:
