for those who want to do some testing with different filters/parameters or maybe different encoders RME/Rebuilder's Matrix Editor might come handy
using RME you can select a small segment of your title and have it encoded with different matrices or filters or encoders or all of it
thus you dont have to have the entire dvd encoded only to test different filter parameters or encoders
i'm not sure if RME will work when using the freeware version, so find out for yourself
with the matrix editor you dont have to cut out a piece of your movie with tools like dvd shrink - load the dvd into rb as usual and...
1. load the entire dvd into rb
2. use THREE click method (by UNchecking ONE click mode)
... and run PREPARE
3. start matrix editor
4. click *preview/test* in the top right hand corner
this will automatically load the data/settings used in rebuilder
i.e. the dvd title as well as chosen encoder + encoder settings
5. pick an avisynthscript from the left in order to select a segment with which to do your testing
6. top right you will have to tick *filters* in order to get hold of the filter-editing mask
7. type in your filter's parameter and press *apply*, *prepare* and *encode*
8. change your filters and repeat this step if you want to test different filters/settings
