Why a Video_TS & .ISO after encoding?

After you encode a movie with DVD-RB, in the destination folder, why does DVD-RB create an Audio_TS, Video_TS & .ISO files? I'm guessing this is done so you can burn with different progs. If so can you specify in DVD-RB to only encode to only one or the other?

RB doesn't take any chances. It initially creates the VIDEO_TS folder, then builds the ISO from its contents. It doesn't delete the VIDEO_TS folder in case something goes wrong somewhere. You can do that yourself.

If you don't want or need the ISO just un-tick it in the menu.

I burn with DVDD and the .iso file is the only thing that I need. It would be nice if you could just make the .iso file that way the destination folder would only be 4G instead of 8G, but I can see the point in DVD-RB encoding the files that way.

maybe you should switch to IMGBURN some of these days

Under ISO options you can tell it to remove the VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders after the ISO has been created. That comes in handy when you are doing multiple jobs in batch and need the space.

@jdobbs, Thanks for the info that will help alot since I rip several movies to the HD before burning them.

@UncasMS, already have it installed just haven't switched yet.
