I don't use CCE but at least in older versions, you had to point at it through EclPro. Uninstall DVD Rebuilder and reinstall it through the installer and setup will ask you where your CCE is.
Alright, now I am using CCE, but I basicaly got a DVD file of the message: "Script Error: There is no function named "mpeg2source"" and then it lists the file name. But it is anamorphic! So I think I am getting closer...
Thanx for all the help blutach. Anyone know why i am getting this error message instead of video for the movie? I still get audi with it though.
That is a problem with the avisynth installation. Uninstall avisynth and DVD Rebuilder. Then install DVD Rebuilder using the installer. It will also install avisynth at the same time and hopefully set it up properly. You will also need to click on some options at the end of the install regarding what encoders you have.
Alright! I got it working, but now I have a few questions. One, if a movie is about 3.5gb, after I use the program, it made it around 5.2gb. Why would it do something like that? Two, am I going to lose any quality here? And three, it says the constant bit rate is 6, is it possible to raise or lower that number or is that just a set thing? Thank you all very much!
all that i try with dvd-rb free give good results, see the list(if i remeber all) :
avisynth 256 working
- 4:3 to 16:9
- all cce version works(266,2702,2700204trial and 250full) (UncasMs is/was my teacher to configure all paths)
- short source(less than 4.5) to dvd-5.
- min_bitrate=xxx
- targetsectors=xxxx (blue is/was another teacher)
- no error messages(never)
- never was needed to unistall and install "something" again(rb,avisynth, filters, etc)
- configurations to use some filters(jdobbs cool hints and UncasMS thread)
- never had some like "Script Error: There is no function named "mpeg2source"
-....that's what i remember in this time...i'm lucky,i have cool teachers
if i never had any of this problems can i ask kidding:
what i'm doing wrong!?!?
hint:
i always do that!
choose 3 steps.after the "prepare" step, open the first .avs from D2VAVS folder in vdubmod and check if have any error message.
(read the error message in red and correct what is needed!)
if the movie is "there" running fine means that your path, avisynth, script and filters are ok(all).
you can hit "encode" (without troubles)
6.0. means 6,000Kbits/sec?
can you post the rebuilder.log?
("Phase I, PREPARATION started" only from your working path)
...and the rebuilder.ini from rb install/folder?

I assume you're talking lb vs. ana? I'm no expert on this, but it's my understanding first that since the lb image has black bars throughout the movie (as part of the 720x480 canvas), there's much less "real picture information" for the size/bits to accommodate. When you convert to anamorphic, you crop-off the black bars and Up-scale the remaining picture info to take full advantage of the 720x480 container. You've increased the resolution, and now you need many more bits (higher bitrate, bigger size) to accommodate this change. Since you have a full 4.5Gb container to use, RB takes advantage of that, and the movie's size is bigger.
Are you losing quality? I think RB uses LanczosResize which does a very good job. The real question is: does it look better to YOU on your TV vs. a letterboxed image zoomed-in. My Sony does a great job of zooming--I could not tell an improvement (or a degradation either btw) when I've done this.
p.s. You said also the size went to 5.2Gb--presumably you changed TargetSectors to be a dual-layer dvd.
the CCE setting appear to be correct. And I notice a major improvement with picture quality, however, the end credits are screwed up on the movies. It turns pixelated and they start jerking really bad.
Another question I have is how do I change the TargetSectors to Single Layer? I'd like to keep the single layered discs (such as Con Air, Snake Eyes ect.) on single layered discs if that's possibe (without losing quality of course).
