DVD-RB doesn't work at all! Why?

Having used Shrink so far with good results, I installed the free 0.96 version after I came accross this site here and read all those positive comments. What I wanted to do is trying out the HC encoder. So I read everything to set it up correctly - which isn't realy difficult anyway - but the results are just not working.
So, what did I do wrong?
At first I tried the one klick method, then the three klick method. However, the resault is as follows:

The sound is there, the menu picture es well, but as soon as I push the "play" button the picture freezes and the sound of the movie starts and goes on. Even if I klick to the next chapter, the sound is fine but the picture still frozen.

Then I had a close look at the log-file and I had to realise there were in the rebuilding phase for each vts lots of dropped frames.

Is there anyone out here who could come foreward with some solution ?

- did you use the INSTALLERversion of rb 096?
(the installerversion is the suggested version as it contains all necessary files and should make all settings needed)

- does the dvd material run fine, when you play it from your harddrive with e.g. powerdvd?
(we need to find out if rebuilder is not working correctly or maybe the tool which decrypted your data to your harddrive)

- which title are we dealing with and HOW did you extract the dvd raw data to your harddrive?

- post your logfile

Fine,

- yes, I used the INSTALLERversion

- I ripped "Hero" with Decrypter

- it plays fine with powerdvd 5 on my pc

- I also did make a shrink version from the same folder for comparison

I just did it again and the size of the ts file at the end is just 790MB. So, obviously it cant work.
What should be the size of the working file? Mine is 400MB.

Did you notice if it installed AVISynth correctly? Low file sizes used to a side effect of incorrect installation in the early days of DVD-RB.
