DVD Rebuilder 1.04Pro +CCE2.7 Final size

I have just recently begun using Rebuilder, thanks to Uncas and Blu for all the info in this section
I successfully encoded a movie with Procoder2 a few days ago (Terminator).
Second project I tried is SinCity. First run I tried CCE2.7
Prepared and Encoded fine, but output ISO size was too large for a DVD5 ( I had it set to write automatically with ImgBurn ) Resulting size was 5.7GB at a ratio of 73.4% compression ( Original file size from Decryptor was 7.84GB )
I am running the same fileset through Procoder2 right now to see if there is any difference.

Here are my settings, and the encoding phase with procoder....in the jpg it says the Overall bitrate is 5547/4437kbs

I will have a log soon when it is done encoding. I realize now I should have kept the log from the original CCE try.

Is there any reason why I couldn't have compressed the fileset enough??

The path to 2.5 was put there by mistake, and I can't find a way to remove it so I left it alone.

Do I have all the other paths set alright?? I wasn't sure where to put CCE SP2.7 so I linked it to the "CCE SP (new)" line. I would assume it is ok seeing as how it doesn't give me any errors when it loads. It just seemed a little strange that the exe was CCTSP.exe, but I chalked that up to a newer version.

no need to update unless you have 2.50 installed parallel

2.70 needs to be addressed directly

hehe, I didn't word that properly. I didn't mean update the software, I meant update my progress

Should I worry about trying to remove the path to 2.5 or just leave it alone. I likely won't ever need it.
And if this works with Procoder, will I actually gain any time by ever using CCE? Because to rebuild Terminator with Procoder on quickest setting was approximately 230 minutes total time (from prepare to rebuilt).

And according to most of your info and Blu's previous posts, Procoder is preferred anyhow, so I may as well just disregard CCE.

Just hopefully this rebuild turns out ok....only on segment 8 right now

Ok it worked fine with Procoder, came out to 4.31. I'm going to try it again with CCE just to see if it rebuilds to a strange size again.
Procoder on Mastering quality took 364 minutes.

you can leave the setting for 250 alone as it'll hardly ever matter (unless you choose the wrong [and that would be the old 2.50] version of cce

doing so will lead you nowhere as no cce can be started but otherwise you wont have to worry about this setting

procoder will NOT gain any time - used with mastering quality, which i prefer - but its results especially with low bitrates are superb

There's a reason you're still on 1.04? Latest is 1.08.1

Just hadn't done the update yet. I just formatted and reinstalled windows and was trying to configure Rebuilder properly with all the new toys. I have it updated now. I see it has the ability to set system priority, and also DVD9. If I ever find some decently priced DL discs I may just try it out

Question about udating. When I run the new 1.08 installer, do I do a new fresh install? Or do I just click on the "update" tab. ( There are Custom/Full/Update )

sounds like the best option

never used it myself though as i always copy the zip files over my old version

You can do either, although the zip does not contain path info. Run the full installer and answer no to when it asks if you want to copy over the rebuilder.ini file is the best practice.

Ok thanks guys I really appreciate it.

And I'm just going to stick with Procoder and not worry about CCE. SinCity turned out terrific !
Now I'm going to have to start playing with the Avisynth filters as in the Sticky Thread. So no doubt I'll be back with another problem

Maybe I didn't make myself clear before. Sorry.

Have a look at a recent zip where Hank's Encoder was, for example, updated. It is just included in the zip and anyone who blindly unzips it to, say, C:\Program Files\DVD-RB Pro will not find the new version of the encoder in the right place (it belongs in the Encoders sub-folder, of course).
