Encoding Times for 3 quality settings

Why does dual core speed up DVD RB - is it optimised for dual core? Is it because more than one process is running at once and the other core takes it over?

Yes, it's because there are two encoding processes running at the same time. Some speedup can be gained using two processes with HT supporting processor but not as much when running dual core.

You suggested you wanted to improve hybrid, have you tried these settings just replace high with one of these
