Brotherhood of the wolf: encoding aborts for no reason

I can't rebuild a specific dvd, Le Pacte des Loups (Brotherhood of the wolf) PAL and I have no idea why. I'm using DVDRB Free 0.98.1 (obviously updated to the last version) and CCE 2.70. This is what happens:

(I paused it myself on segment 7)

Rb retries a few time, then the encoding is aborted. I initially had the DVD backed up on my hd with Dvd Decrypter, I copied it again (full dvd) with Ripit4me+Decrypter+Fixvts (in case anything went wrong the first time). I checked the dvd structure with Pgcedit, and tried to play the dvd with a number of programs (Ifoedit - before I turned it into an .iso -, VLC, Intervideo windvd, Powerdvd) and it perfectly worked.
I ran into a couple of errors with DVDRBfree lately, but either they were on my end or they could be fixed. Besides, they do happen very, very rarely. I don't have a clue on this one.

Jdobbs? Blutach? Anyone?

Little. Removed a trailer which was on another VTSM using Vob-blanker, and checked the dvd compliance in Pgcedit -trace mode- after that. The DVD has a very linear structure except for the menu, which is in VTS 1, while the movie is in VTS 3. I removed one DTS language stream with Dvdrebuilder, before the Preparation.
The dvd, as I said, played flawless on any program, and I shrank it with Dvdshrink in no time. Obviously it was just a test: considering the movie itself is 6.75 gb, the result is astonishingly bad.

I'm still looking for the problem, but as of now, no clue whatsoever.

I use VOBblanker tobalnk out titles etc, seems fine.

Try running it through FixVTS before you goto rebuilder !!!

Err...I know, I wrote it in my first post, some lines up.

I always run my dvds through fixvts before rebuilding them, but this one's a bit of a mystery apparently. Still no clue at all.

maybe try running the files through shrink with a desired size set bigger than the data itself in order not to compress

see if it makes a difference

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. Doesn't hurt to try, I'll test it asap.

@blutach: I did try without pre-processing, same error. I checked the last .m2v before that one, checked the .avs, checked the vob that "contains" that .m2v with multiple tools, to no avail. Everything seems perfectly fine.

Btw, I must thank you for all the replies, I'm not used to this forum yet and I'm always surprised not to read the response I'd get everywhere else: "awww, whatever man, no clue, ksorrybye".

try running scandisk on your HDD, it might turn out to be a bad sector on the disk.
