    Duel DVD-RB Program

Has anyone used the Duel DVD-RB program as seen on the doom site? It works with HC enc and other encoders. It will make it possible to use the free version of DVD-RB and get the use of a dual core PC. I set it up as directed but I get this error mesage. File V010000000101 shows completed, but no M2V file exists, aborted

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

        @ Art Vandelay

If your running the freeware version of DVD-RB 098.1 with the HC encoder 019 be sure to manually update to the latest version of the HC encoder 019.1

DVD-RB 098.1 needs to be updated to the HC019.1 encoder

Probably not. I've limited updates on the freeware version to bugfixes... and doing multiple encodes is not a minor change...

The two changes made between HC v19 and HC v19.1 don't really apply to DVD-RB.

              Dual

Did you create and name 2 instances of HC., and set the path for both? I've been using http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=97961 for about 2 months now. I think it works pretty good.

                Yes

                bigt1:
I still have the encoder in the DVD-RB folder from the original install I just copied the contense twice to look like the doom9 page shows. C:\encoders\HC1\hcbatch.exe
                C:\encoders\HC2\hcbatch.exe

then I then set the path to the 2 encoders as the the site shows. The two last are for QuEnc in the Pro version or QuEnc and HC in the free version. I am using the free version of DVDRB with HCenc so the last 2 are uses for the path.

then set the path to duelDVDRB.exe in the Path to QuEnc at the setup. This had me confused since it didn't make ref. to HCenc as the encoder in the text file when setting up.

                  Still Problems

                  bigt1;

my AMD Athlon X2 Duel Core 4600 is only running at 47% max when encoding and the DualDVDDB isn't even working since my 2 paths for the encoders are for version 19.1.0 and the encoder that I have in the original installed DVD-RB folder is version 19.0.0 so since version 19.1.0 isn't being used since I see 19.0.0 in the encoder window, I still have some path problems. Can you claify settiing up the path to dueladvdrb in the pathe to Quenc. It just isn't working please help and talk slowly/.

                  Thank you,

                  AV

                    Fixed

Problem solved, 113 mins with DVDRB to do a 7.8 GB DVD with HCenc. Previously took almost 5 hrs. with DVDRB Free version and HCenc.

                    Thanks to everyone

                      Normal VS Best Setting

forgot to mention 113 minute version was done with Normal setting in HCenc where as the 5 hr. version was done with Best setting and single encoder running. It will certainly change the times.

                          Path

I selected Quenc as the encoder rather than HCenc which is what I was using. The DualDVD-RB program is selected from the path in setup and software might think it is using QUenc but it is the dual program running HCenc twice. I went into the HCgui for each of the 2 versions of the encoder and saw that it was set at NORMAL for quality. I changed them both to BEST and saved the settings by saveHC.ini so now everythig should be done at BEST. Wow the speed increase is nice, my X2 Athlon 4600 dual core was encoding at 95%-98% with the 2 versions of HCenc. With the single version running I only see the processor at aprox. 47% Still, I must be blind since I don't see much diff. from Shrink with DA and AEC settings.

                          Strange setup but worked well.

i pretty much depends on your source

with long titles i saw severe differences - c.f. my tests posted in the rebuilder forum
