Menu compress rather than converting to stills

I am a DVD newbie, so go easy on me Thanks to your excellent guides, I am now happily backing up DVD's using DVD FAB HD Decrypter, MenuShrink, VobBlanker, DVD Rebuilder & ImgBurn

The kids have started asking where the moving menus have gone. Is there a program out there that can compress menu's rather than turning them to stills (like MenuShrink does) ?

Would it be possible to shrink the menus using DVDShrink (telling it not to compress the main movie or extras), before compressing those using DVD-RB & the HC encoder in the normal way. Would I lose any quality in the main movie by passing it through DVDShrink first (set to no compression) ?

Don't use MenuShrink but tick the box on DVD Rebuilder Pro that says enable menu encoding (settings menu). Do remember, that what you keep in the menus will take away from the other video and you watch the video not the menus Your choice, of course.

In the future, please do not mention ripping programs such as DVD Shrink and DVD Fab Decrypter. See rule 19.

Thanks for the quick reply Les and the advice. I didn't realise that the Pro version of DVD Rebuilder could encode the menus to shrink them (thats not trumpeted enough on the web site). One copy of the Pro version sold to the newbie
