    Cucusoft Converter

i'm using Cucusoft Converter(www.cucusoft.com) to convert my avi files to DVD(VOB) format, but cant seem to include the .srt(subtitles) during conversion. The converter wont run, although it has a "Auto Add Subtitles" check box. Also using Nero burner to burn the converted DVD files, so that i can watch it on my standalone DVD player. Can anyone alight me on how to include the subtitles(.srt files) to my DVD(VOB) files, using the softwares that i have? Thanks!

The other thing you can do if the files are already encoded to mpg is use DvdAuthorGui to mux in the subs. The video file has to be either .m2v in which case you have to provide the audio file also, or an .mpg that is video and audio combined with navpacks. After you load the file(s) in for that title go to Extras Menu and load the .srt subtitles.

If you haven't done the video encoding yet then just use a tool like DVD Flick or FAVC.

          FFmpegX

I think you can make use of ffmpegX to merge avi and srt files to one file, and then burn the file to DVD
          Just follow this guide:
How to Burn SRT/Sub Subtitle Files to DVD on Mac ?

If you have directshow you can "burn in" the subtitles using TMPGenc Plus. I've done it may times. Just have the .avi and .srt file with the same basename in the same folder. If you want selectable subtitles convert the .avi to separate mpeg video and audio files(which should be the default I think, if not, there's a little drop down on that page in the wizard.) Then you can use an authoring program. I used to go with DVDAuthorGui just because it was easy(and free.) Depends if you want to do fancy menus or whatever. If you just want a DVD with selectable subs it's fine. You can also put in chapter times if you want chapters.
