    Flask: plug-in help

I really like using TMPGEnc to make my mpegs, but it doesn't support subtitles and this anime I'm ripping really does need to be seen with subtitles. So I'm resigned to using Flask.

However, I'm not really satisfied with the little bbMPEG encoder they gave me. I tried downloading the trial version of CCE, but I couldn't figure out how to make it act as a plug-in instead of its own little encoder.

    1. How do I get CCE or that Panasonic encoder to act as plug-ins for Flask?

    2. And, um, is there a less expensive MPEG encoder that works well with Flask?

    I'm pretty stumped. =/

"but I couldn't figure out how to make it act as a plug-in instead of its own little encoder."

If it is, in fact, convertible for use within Flask, simply change the extender to a "double" extender of ".cm.flask" (without the quotation marks) and put it in the Flask directory...

Right now it looks like the results from bbMPEG were pretty acceptable. I wouldnt' really want to use it if I were going for a DVD quality MPEG2, but since I'm just trying to make higher quality SVCD stuff, it looks good.

I guess I won't bother with those trial version thingies.

If you download the "Premiere Video Server" plugin you can use Flask to frameserve and encode using TmpEnc. It works great for me. I have attached the "videoserver" file. Just uncompress it into the Flask directory. It's the trial version, but it's fully functional. It has a nag-screen, but so what? It's quite easy to use. The plugin creates a fake AVI-file that you can load into TmpEnc..
