banging my head against the wall with Nero

I am trying to burn VCD's and SVCD's in Nero 5.5.1. I keep getting an "unexpected file format" error no matter if I try to burn a VCD using Video CD or SVCD using Super Video. I have encoded using different settings with TMPG 2.02.31.119. I can't understand what the problem is. My OS is WIN XP. Please help.

Try using the following settings in TMPGenc and the file should load OK in Nero:

    Video: Either 352x288(PAL) OR 352x240(NTSC), 1150kbps, 25fps(PAL) OR 29.97fps(NTSC), 625 line(PAL) OR 525 line(NTSC).

Audio: MPEG1 Layer II 192/224kbps, 44100Khz, Stereo (2 Channel). (Which ever you prefer/best suits your filesize).

Also, make sure that its set to convert to VideoCD System in one of the tabs in a drop down list.

      nero problem

      Hi,
Don't worry about nero... it always does that to me too. Just turn off Video CD V 2.0 compliance and continue, and it should work fine.
As long as you have the resolution set and audio frequency correct, the VCD will work fine

      Hope this helps
