audio codec ?

Sorry if this isnt the place to post this, but I have a movie that I want to make a VCD. But cant convert it. The video is excellent but, I have no audio. I went to file, then properties in windows media player, said audio codec was unknown. help please!

P.S. - It has Diamond ShareReactor in the filename if that helps any

In order to determine which codec(s) you need for a particular .AVI, you should do the following:

1) Load the file into VirtualDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

"Unknown Tag (2000)" is a reference to .AC3 audio. You'll have to download and install an.AC3 codec/filter or install a software DVD player such as WinDVD or PowereDVD - both of which include the required filter/codec...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH SETARIP!!!!!! I have downloaded that movie 5 different times thinking I downloaded a crappy encoded one or something. I found the Nimo pack which includes all codes! and downloaded WinDVD.
