    Burning on SVCD

    Hi Guys,
    New here!

I wanted to know why my sony 325s wont find a SVCD disk when inserted. Itll play a VCD I burned on a rw disk put the quality is a little mush! Im using the same CD-rw disk but no go?

If the player isnt SVCD compatible which im trying to look up now on vcdeasy...are there any other alternatives to view reasonably good quality on the sony unit??

    Any ideas

    Thanks

"I wanted to know why my sony 325s wont find a SVCD disk when inserted."

    That model doesn't recognize/play SVCDs.

If you are intent on having something higher than VCD quality to play on this standalone, you can "fool" it, by converting your SVCD files by using TMPGEnc as follows:

    File>>MPEGTools>>Simple Multiplex

    Load your SVCD file

    Change mode to "MPEG1-VideoCD"

Enter a new filename in the "Output" box

    Press the "Run" radio button

(Do not be concerned about any "Buffer underflow" messages you may see)

Burn (DO NOT ask burning software, such as NERO to CONVERT to VCD, rather merely BURN as a VCD)

Thanks Ill give that a go

Just read that if I was to Multiplex the Mpeg 2 file and give it a VCD Header it should work.

Is this the same/similar as suggested above?

      Thanks
      Nick

It looks like your DVD player does not support SVCD, if it is a Sony DVP-S325 the VCD header trick mentioned by others should work. If you ever need to check DVD player compatability again I suggest you go to: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers
