    VCD Screen Size

    I burned a VCD with subtitles and I noticed that the edges of the screen on the left and right are cut off. I haven't noticed this on VCD's I've burned before-but I've never burned one with subtitles. The original screen size is 640 x 356, is there a way I can add bars or something to get the screen to look right, or something?

      TMPGEnc to convert from .avi, and Nero to burn.

        In TMPGEnc, under both the "Video" and "Advanced" tabs, set the dimensions to either 352x240 or 352x288 (Under "Advanced", first select "Centered - Custom Format").

        Let us know of your success;>}

          It doesn't seem to be TMPGENc that is cutting off the edges- I have it set for standard NTSC VCD, 352 x 240, and the .mpg plays just right on my computer, but when I burn it, the screen has edges cut off on the tv.

            Does your TV provide the ability to adjust the width (horizontal size)?

              Hi,

              I have thesame issue here. happens to me no matter what resolution my source video are.

              I'm using Vegas 4.0 and Adobe Premiere 7. In both software, I render them as NTSC VCD 352x240. Results are identical in both software.

              I burn them into VCD using NEro 5.5 also tried 6.0. Playing them back usig the CD in the PC, Everything is OK. but when I play them back in the TV, The left and right edges seem to exceed the TVs viewable screen. Also tried Vegas 4.0's built in burner. Got thesame result.

              Played them back in my old VCD player and my DVD player, used 3 different TV sets. Same reslult. Please help

                  .tv's overscan and therefore you need to shrink your video a bit to make it fit..i use premiere to do this and set the transform filter to about 95% (shrinking it 5%) ..doesnt what setarip suggested in tmpg kinda do the same thing or is it still stretching it after?
