        I have found that using "CVD" (Chinese Video Disk) settings of 352x480 and a bitrate of 2,520Kbps as part of my SVCD settings in TMPGEnc yields excellent visual results...

          ok, heres a few questions for u:

          1) chinese disks?! where am i suppose 2 get them!?

          2) say if u download a bad quality film, can u encode it agiain usin a higher bitrate?

          3) if ur using tmpeg, and u hav a big video, and using the project wizard u set it 2 svcd, they give the maxuim bitrate which is somethin like 900kps, when actually the video was encoded at 1500kps, does that mean the quality will go down?

          thanx for time

            The CVD like VCD or SVCD is a specific format. You don't need to go to China.

            Yes you can, though it is unlikely to yield any improvement in quality.

            Most likely yes.

                  You don't need a "thingy" ;>}

                  Simply use TMPGEnc settings for SVCD, but change the bitrate to 2,520Kbps and under BOTH the "Video" and "Advanced" tabs change the resolution to 352x480...
