SVCD fast forward

I am new to video and am using Nero to burn SVCD.
When I play them on my Apex stand alone player ($79 at Circuit City!!) it cannot seem to fast forward or reverse. I thought I read somewhere that you can download a file to put onto the cd to enable it, but (of coarse) that link no longer works.

Scandat.dat or something like that is fixed if you upgrade your version of Nero.
