    SVCD time?

Can I burn like 120 minutes on a SVCD if I use a low bitrate? If I have a 1, 5 hour movie in DivX format and I convert it to a MPEG2 file with a low bitrate, so that the final MPEG2 file is less then 800mb, will it play in my SVCD-compatible dvd-player?
    thanx.

I don't think so, at least my DVD player won't. I used Nero to burn my VCD and SVCD's and at least for me, they make you use a standard bitrate...I believe 1150kbps for VCD. Not sure what the bitrate for SVCD it, but my first guess would be no

Well I don't use Nero I use VCD Easy to make a Image file and then I burn it with Fireburner. In SVCD you can use whatever bitrate you want (at least every bitrate I've tried has worked). I've also tried making VCD's at other bitrates and that has worked fine too. For exaple I made a VCD with a bitrate of 1800.
But what I wan't to know is, is it possible to fit more than 80 minutes on a cd if I use a very low bitrate?

Yes it is very possible to make more than an 80minute vcd on 1 cd-r, HOWEVER you must remember that less bitrate/size = less quality.
