Can't use search with SVCD HELP!!!!!!!

I have Converted a divx to SVCD, when I play it back on my DVD player I cannot search for a part of the movie ie move to 20min.I can use the fast forward and rewind , it is as if my player does not know the length of the SVCD. This is the first Divx that I have created and then converted to SVCD. I have converted someone elses Divx before and it seemed to work , but because I am now using latest version of nero I am not sure if it is my conversion or nero please help as its a pain when you want to skip to the point in the movie that you last watched.
