Yes - You created an UNcompressed video (Default in VirtualDub). You have to select and configure a video codec from the "Video" dropdown menu (Preferably the same codec and compression taht was used to create the original)
ok, that makes sense. After doing a little research, I figured out that my camera is using the m-jpeg codec. This doesn't seem to be available in VirtualDub, unless it's going by another name.
