Syncing VCD file after converting AVI to MPEG

Please help I am a newbie and need some guides how to sync the sound and film on my movie. I tried the guide but it did not work.

    Problem:

I have a AVI file that is DivX I want to convert to VCD. However when convert to mpeg the pic and sound go out of sync although the orignal file is fine. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks

How exactly are you converting? What guide, what programs?
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

I had the very same problem. I decided to convert some of my old taped SF movies to VideoCD. The avi file was perfect, and when I converted it to VideoCd compliant mpeg it was perfect. Audio/Video both in perfect (or near-perfect) sync. When the videoCD was played on the PC it was also ok. However, when I played the videoCD in my home DVD player, the sound was out of sync with the video by several seconds. The software I used to produce the videocd was Roxio's Video CD Creator, a package I have since consigned to the bin in favour of Nero. I have a feeling that it may have something to do with a black video lead in but if there's any good advice out there, I'd be happy to get it.
