Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about being able to burn straight from AVI to a disc. The programs in question are Roxio Easy CD Creator or Nero. If anyone can help please reply. Thanks.

I want to burn it as an AVI so I can fit a full movie on one CD. The problems are with Nero, it automatically converts it to MPEG and you can't fit the full movie. With Roxio, I don't know what type of cd to make(I upgraded from basic but the thing still won't allow me to make Video CD's, however it gave me more options then just Data or Audio),Comment

If the .AVI file is 700Mb or less (using an 80 minute,700Mb CD-R) simply use NERO to burn the file as a "Data CD"...Comment

Tried that, didn't work. I never tried on my computer, just on my DVD player. Unless I used the wrong thing. There was no Data CD option, so I used the CD-ROM one at the top of the left menu in the wizard. Is there something wrong with this?Comment

You can't play AVI on dvd-players. (except one to my knowledge, it's the KISS player)
You need to convert it to vcd or svcd first. but trying to fit more than one hour on one cd-r might give you horrible results.
Try tmpgenc to encode it to vcd, use 2-pass vbr and you might fit 85-90 minutes on a 80 Min cd-r.- The question is: Why?Comment
