how do you convert cdr or cdrw to vcd ?

hi guys im pretty ignorant at all this so go gentle i need to know how to convert cdr and cdrws in to vcd so they can be veiwed pn a normal dvd player they dont work currently . also can you copy this converted vcd to make another vcd please help guys

ok, first you need to tell us what format the video on the CD-R is.
but i'm sure you can convert them anyway, just look around at some articles on the DivX/DVD Digest sites.
