    Ulead DVD Movie Factory

    Please help. I've been using the Ulead DVD movie factory and have successfully burned 2 movie CD's (one in DVD and one in VCD), but they will only play in my DVD-ROM on the computer perfectly, even the menus are perfect. My stand alone DVD player DOES play VCDs also, but kicks out the new ones I've made.
    What am I doing wrong?
    The User's guide to my stand alone DVD player says that it will play (and it has before) VCDs along with DVDs.
    It also says:
    "Before you load the disc, make sure that it is compatible with the player. Note that the following discs CANNOT be used with this player:
    - Laserdisc
    - CD-I CD-ROM, CD-R, DVD-ROM
    - Minidisc
    - Discs recorded using other TV systems (i.e. PAL or SECAM)"

    I've been using CD-RWs to record on. Are my settings wrong for conversion, and what settings can I use so my stand alone player will play these? Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

    Many standalone DVD players are "finicky" about which brands of CD-R they'll recognize. I've personally had great success with the following brands: Prime Peripherals, ArtMedia, and Princo. Additionally, most of the standalones WILL recognize most brands of R/W CDs.

    For brand/model-specific standalone DVD player info, try this site:

    Video forums, video software downloads, guides, blu-ray players and media.

    Don't let the name fool you. Agood portion of the site is related to concerns such as yours.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      If you can't find any of those brand CD-r's, I've had success with burning SVCD's on Verbatim 80 minute discs at 16X.

      But I've also had coasters and can get no help from Nero or the folks at this forum as to how to get it right every time. My movies always play nicely in the DVD but the menus show up upon hitting "play" just better than 50% of the time.

      I tried memorex black because I was told black was the best and while it plays the movies fine the menu doesn't show up anywhere. Usually when its not right the menu will show up if you hit the "next" key during the last clip.

      Wishing you better luck than I've had,
