    Looking for a good mpeg-2 cutter

    I make svcd rips and usually include a sample vid since my finished vids are in cue-bin format in a rar archive. I would like to have uniform 10 mb clips of my vids but I can't find an mpeg cutter that lets you select the clip based upon file size. Is there a cutter out there that will do this? Thanks for any info you can provide.

    I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but this program (MPEG2CUT) cuts MPEG 2 Files (.VOB's) perfect. It's without a doubt, the best .VOB cutter/editor ever, it leaves no artifacts, or screwed up cuts like other programs I have used. Check it out.

      None of which I'm aware ("MPEG2CUT" will NOT generate the desired information). However, you could easily "get into the ballpark" with a simple calculation of Total Filesize (Megs) divided by Total Running Time (in seconds) equals Average Megs per second.

      Of course this is based on average only - and your clip size may vary based on action, etc. - but, again, it should bring you reasonably close...

        Thanks setarip. My problem is that it takes me 3-4 attempts to get the desired ballpark and even then, it is not a perfect 10 mb. Since I do 3-6 rips per week, I figure I could save at least a half hour per week with the right app.

          "Thanks setarip."

          My pleasure - although I'm sorry it wasn't the response you were looking for ;>}
