ripping a dvd and converting audio to mp3's

i asked a similiar question the other day, but here is the problem..i found several programs (DVDtoMP3, DVD audio rip) that look like they would work, but when i put a dvd in my drive it says can't read the files, or unrecognized..i get the same error in both cases

i have an external HP dvd, and i know it works as i have played dvd's and ripped them using SHRINK after these errors..have used 3 diff. dvd's , all the same

any ideas?..or if not any other simple solution/program/alternative?

Most such programs work only with already DECRYPTED DVDs.

Try using one of them AFTER you've "ripped" (decrypted and copied to hard drive) a DVD using DVD Shrink (or DVD Decrypter, SmartRipper, or similar)...

one last question, thanx so much for this tidbit, by the way..what are the file extension names after you rip the dvd i'd be looking for..do i rip all the file extensions to a folder and then only select certain ones?..if so, which ones?
