Is there a way of creating a VCD based on a DVD?

Hello All,

I've just discovered the my DVD player doesn't support VCD's, which I thought it did when I bought it Having read a number of different sites about this, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to get around the problem of VCD's playing in non compatible DVD players via software. What I mean is, if I am authoring a VCD (I don't have a DVD burner), whether it was possible to make the DVD player believe that the VCD was infact a DVD?

What you are describing is known as a "mini-DVD" - a format which VERY FEW DVD players support. The fact that your player doesn't support the playback of even "routine" burned VCDs would make it almost totally certain that it would not support "mini-DVD" format...
