Is there any DVDShrink equivalence in VCD/SVCD software?

I often have small features that I would like to keep on a 30 minute disc. Sometimes they are from Tape, sometimes from Satellite, sometimes from DVD?

I can capture from taped sources. But is there a program that would allow me to simply burn a vob as well as an avi or mpeg to a cd that would be playable on a DVD player. I have Nero for burning VCDs.
I would like something that would take a small vob and convert it to an mpeg (mpeg 2 preferably) and then burn it to a cd (Svcd preferably). I have tried Flask (dropped frames seem to occur - however, I am new to this!

I would like something with the simplicity of my process of using DVDShrink then IMGtool then onto DVDdecrypter to burn. (My nero won't burn DVDs but it will burn SVCDs)

Any thoughts?
