Ripping out pieces from 80 minute VCD, combining and burning?

Hi all,

I've looked the forum over, but haven't seen this one. I have a bunch of 80 minute VCDs with bits and pieces I like. All of the VCDs have 5 folders, all empty except for the MPEGAV folder which has 1 large file entitled avseq01.dat

I want to rip these scenes out of the VCDs and combine them into one or more "best of" VCDs. Can someone please tell me which programs to use, the best places to get them, and the basic procedure? I have CD and DVD- burners.

Use TMPGEnc or TMPGEncPlus, as follows:

TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut...

OK, I'll try that. What's the best for burning them?
