    Philips 642 Audio Track Problem

I'm not sure where this post should go, but here it is for now!

I have a Philips 642 player. It's running into the VCR and into the TV. There does not appear to be any Macrovision. Reads DVD's, plays just fine and does most everything else I've tried. My sound system is an older Pioneer Dolby Pro Logic.

My only problem is when trying to play Backup DVD's that I've made with DVD Shrink and Nero6. It's not really a Problem so much as a NAG.

When I put in the DVD the player starts up the 2 Channel Audio Track with the Directors Voices. Not that anyone ever listens to that crap, it's just there.

So I have to cycle around the Audio tracks until I find English 5.1 and then it's fine after that until I try playing another one of my burned DVD's.

MY questions is that I already know I can fix this by just using the 5.1 Audio track only. However, I'd like to keep those extra tracks and figure out a way to make the player play the 5.1 track as the defualt.

I only use the Re-Authoring modes and trash the menus and unwanted extras.

Is there away I can tell the player to just play the 5.1 Audio track?

Is this just the DVD player problem?

Is this a setting in DVD Shrink?

Is this a Setting in Nero6?

    ...

    I'm open to your Thoughts!
