11 min vid to cd help

Ive been asked to put an 11 min video on to a cd. the video is going to be projected using a windows pc. Ive been told to make an mpeg1 file. is this recomended?
also if Im to make an mpeg 1 file would I use tempeg or media cleaner 5.
I also have another prblem.. I have a pinical dv 300 card with prem5 on win 98. so Im restrected in file size. would I make up 2 avi files and then join them and then make an mpeg file or would I make 2 mpeg files and join them... If so how would I do it?...
Id be very happy if any one can help me.

Too bad they didn't want an 8-minute video. That would have avoided that 2-GB limitation. Oh, well.

Well, MPEG-2 would be higher quality, but since you have been requested to do MPEG-1, you probably should do that. It may very well be that the limitations of the PC presentation require the smaller screen area and lower bit rate of MPEG-1. Will they be using Windows Media Player, PowerPoint, or what?

You would think Media Cleaner 5, with it reputation, would do the best. However, TMPGEnc would be my first try, because I think it may actually do a better job with MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 encoding. All MPEG encoders are definitely not created equal.

I am going to defer to others for the best solution to your file size problem. If you are going to be doing much desktop video work, you would benefit from updating your Premiere to version 6 and upgrading your operating system to at least W98SE. The new WinXP is supposed to have even better media support, but I am still using W98SE because I dread doing an OS update.
