Which version are you using ?

I'm using 2.01 and have no problems

What i do know is that sometimes it appears to freeze but actually it doesn't.

This is because it takes a while for TMPGEnc to calculate the beginning of the second part

Just give it time and after a while audio starts counting, after that video and then it seems to need a rest once again before you will see an output.

      I'm using 2.50.32

The problem is that it calculates de video, the audio, and then, when ctrl+atl+del, it marks [not responding]... would it be good to upgrade to latest release?

      thanks in advance

or downgrade ............... newer is not always better

I found in the history of the realeses only one remark concerning the cutting and merging:
At Merge(Cut) of MPEG tools, if there is any error, it shows the detail of the error.
        for version 2.52

So nowhere a problem with the cutting

One more thing comes to mind...............your computer specs
Maybe it is an idea to close all applications when you do the cutting

        just some thoughts
