    VCD and subtitles

I was wondering, how to put some (fix) subtitles on a VCD.
The way I made it, is:
rip the DVD - use DVD2AVI to get Video and audio
rip the subtitles and convert 'em into *.ssa.
    - this is the point, I can translate it

Now, if I use VirtualDub with subtitle-filter - it will work.
BUT....... I don't wanna have an AVI.

Is there a way to fix my subtitles directly to an *.mpeg file ?

    Thx.

If i'm not mistaken you can do this by using VDub as a frame-server

Go to How to add Subtitles to a video and encode to a VCD/SVCD(MPEG , another excellent turorial on vcdhelper

A little outdated maybe (they are using TMPGEnc 12b and VDub 1c) but i am sure you will get the picture.

I hope this is the answer to your question.

It's much more simple when you just use Flask! You can directly convert your dvd WITH subtitles to dvd.
You'll also have better quality because you don't just convert all the time!!

          Good luck!
